A quick glance at the world around us, is enough to let the reality percolate of what an all consuming species we are. We take indiscriminately, we plunder incessantly, we consume uninhibitedly. The rampant erosion of nature around me gave me many a sleepless night, my inaction felt suffocating. This stayed in my subconscious, as I worked, I smiled, I partied, but the blur remained. It made me anxious; I was seeking something – different, something bigger than me. In my quest for answers, I stumbled onto my respite – a black box with a view finder, which intrigued me no end. Because the moment I peeked into it, the haze disappeared. I saw a new world, I saw perspectives, honesty, innocence, joy, a full 4K image of ‘LIFE’ that changed with every slight twist and turn of my lens.
My camera became my kaleidoscope, my companion, but more importantly, my happiness, my salvation. I started to observe little things which I hadn’t paid much attention to. The little things that turned into a bouquet of miracles. As Mary Davis once said, “A walk in nature is to witness a thousand miracles.” And thanks to my camera, I witness them every day.
This is where my journey with nature and photography began. A journey that started as a curiosity, has over time, become my destiny. I started to see below the surface and understand the ‘complex yet seemingly simple’ doings of nature.
And through my photographs, I want to bring these miracles to you – straight from my view finder. I hope these moments will rekindle deeper thoughts that are yet to see the light and make the world a better place to live in.
